Rolf Nordhagen (physicist) is a Norwegian physicist and computer scientist. He was born on 2 August 1927 in Oslo, Norway. He is best known for his work in the development of the first computer in Norway, the NORD-1. Nordhagen studied physics at the University of Oslo, graduating in 1952. He then went on to work at the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment, where he worked on the development of the NORD-1 computer. The NORD-1 was the first computer in Norway and was used for military and scientific applications. Nordhagen was also involved in the development of the NORD-2 computer, which was the first computer in Norway to be used for commercial applications. He also worked on the development of the NORD-3 computer, which was the first computer in Norway to be used for educational purposes. Nordhagen has received numerous awards for his work, including the King's Medal of Merit in Gold in 1984 and the Order of St. Olav in 1996.
