Sabine de Bethune is a Belgian politician who has served in the Belgian Senate since 2003. She is a member of the Christian Democratic and Flemish (CD&V) party. Born in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, de Bethune moved to Belgium in 1960. She studied law at the Catholic University of Leuven and graduated in 1983. She then worked as a lawyer in Brussels. In 2003, de Bethune was elected to the Belgian Senate, representing the Flemish constituency of West Flanders. She was re-elected in 2007 and 2010. In the Senate, de Bethune has served on the Committee on Justice and Home Affairs, the Committee on Foreign Affairs, and the Committee on Social Affairs. In addition to her political career, de Bethune is a member of the board of directors of the Flemish public broadcaster VRT. She is also a member of the board of directors of the Flemish Institute for the Environment. As of 2021, Sabine de Bethune's net worth is estimated to be approximately $1 million.
