Santiago Ferrando is a Peruvian sprinter who was born on 7 June, 1928. He is best known for his success in the 400m sprint, having won the gold medal at the 1951 Pan American Games in Buenos Aires. Ferrando began his career as a sprinter in the late 1940s, competing in the 400m and 800m events. He won the gold medal in the 400m at the 1951 Pan American Games in Buenos Aires, and also won the silver medal in the 800m. He also competed in the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki, Finland, where he finished in fourth place in the 400m. Ferrando continued to compete in the 400m and 800m events until the late 1950s, when he retired from competitive athletics. He is now 95 years old. Ferrando is married and has two children. He currently lives in Lima, Peru. He is still active in the sports world, and is a member of the Peruvian Olympic Committee.
