Scott Hutchinson is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist. He is best known as the lead singer and guitarist of the folk rock band Frightened Rabbit. He was born in Winter Park, Florida, and grew up in the small town of Selkirk, Scotland. He attended the University of Edinburgh, where he studied English Literature. Hutchinson began his musical career in 2003, when he formed Frightened Rabbit with his brother Grant. The band released their debut album, Sing the Greys, in 2006. Since then, they have released five more albums, including their most recent, Painting of a Panic Attack, in 2016. Hutchinson has also released two solo albums, Owl John in 2014 and Tiny Changes: A Celebration of Frightened Rabbit's The Midnight Organ Fight in 2019. He has collaborated with a number of other artists, including The National, The Twilight Sad, and The Hold Steady. Hutchinson is currently married to his wife, Sarah, and they have two children. He is 64 years old.

The Buffalo Bills selected Hutchinson in the second round (thirty-eighth pick overall) of the 1978 NFL Draft, and he played for the Bills from 1978 to 1980. Hutchinson played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for one season in 1981, after being waived by the Bills in the preseason, and part of the 1983 season for the Buffalo Bills again. He finished his professional career with the Orlando Renegades of the United States Football League (USFL) during the league's final spring season in 1985.

Hutchinson accepted an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, where he was a defensive lineman for coach Doug Dickey's Florida Gators football team from 1974 to 1977. As a senior team captain in 1977, he was a first-team All-Southeastern Conference (SEC) selection, an Associated Press honorable mention All-American.
