Shigeyuki Nishio is a former professional tennis player from Japan. He was born on 23 May 1954 in Kobe, Hyogo, Japan. He turned professional in 1976 and retired in 1988. He won two singles titles and four doubles titles during his career. He reached a career-high singles ranking of World No. 28 in 1985 and a career-high doubles ranking of World No. 24 in 1986. Nishio was a member of the Japanese Davis Cup team from 1977 to 1988. He won a total of 11 singles and 11 doubles matches in the Davis Cup. He also represented Japan in the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, where he reached the third round of the singles event. Nishio is currently the head coach of the Japanese national tennis team. He has also served as the head coach of the Japanese Fed Cup team since 2011. He is also the president of the Japan Tennis Association.
