Silvio Moser is a Swiss transportation engineer and politician. He was born in Zurich, Switzerland, on April 24, 1941. He studied at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich and graduated in 1965 with a degree in civil engineering. Moser began his career in the Swiss Federal Railways in 1965, where he worked for more than 30 years. He was appointed head of the Swiss Federal Railways in 1997 and held the position until his retirement in 2002. Moser has also been active in politics. He was a member of the Swiss National Council from 2003 to 2011 and was a member of the Swiss Council of States from 2011 to 2015. He was also a member of the Swiss Federal Council from 2015 to 2019. Moser is married and has two children. He is currently 80 years old.
