He was best known for his works in the genres of drama, comedy, and satire. Angeli was a prolific writer, having written over 30 plays and numerous short stories. He was also an actor, appearing in several films and television series. He was a member of the Italian National Academy of Dramatic Arts. Angeli was married to actress and singer Lina Volonghi, with whom he had two children. He died on 28 April, 2002 in Rome, Italy.
