Sosthenes Bitok is a Kenyan long-distance runner who competed in the marathon and 10,000 metres events. He won the bronze medal in the 10,000 metres at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. He also won the bronze medal in the marathon at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. Bitok was born in Eldoret, Kenya, and began his running career in the early 1980s. He won the 10,000 metres at the 1987 All-Africa Games in Nairobi, Kenya, and the 10,000 metres at the 1988 African Championships in Athletics in Cairo, Egypt. He also won the 10,000 metres at the 1989 IAAF World Cup in Barcelona, Spain. Bitok won the bronze medal in the 10,000 metres at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, and the bronze medal in the marathon at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. He also won the bronze medal in the marathon at the 1993 IAAF World Championships in Stuttgart, Germany. Bitok retired from competitive running in 1995. He is currently a coach and works with the Kenyan Athletics Federation. As of 2021, Sosthenes Bitok's net worth is estimated to be around $1 million.
