He soon became a popular figure in the city's blues scene and was known for his unique style of playing. In the 1950s, Specs Wright began recording for Chess Records and released several singles. He also toured with Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf. In the 1960s, he released several albums and toured extensively. Specs Wright has been married twice and has four children. He is currently 96 years old and still performs occasionally. He is considered one of the most influential blues guitarists of all time.
