Srimushnam V. Raja Rao is an Indian Carnatic musician and vocalist. He is a disciple of the legendary musician, Sri Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer. He is known for his melodious and soulful renditions of Carnatic music. Raja Rao was born in 1955 in Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli, India. He received his initial training in Carnatic music from his father, Sri V.V. Subramaniam. He later went on to receive advanced training from Sri Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer. Raja Rao has performed in many prestigious music festivals in India and abroad. He has also released several albums of Carnatic music. He has been awarded the prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2020. Raja Rao is married to Smt. Uma Raja Rao and they have two children. He currently resides in Chennai, India.
