Stein-Erik Olsen is a Norwegian musician, composer, and producer. He is best known for his work with the band A-ha, which he co-founded in 1982. He has also released several solo albums and collaborated with other artists. Olsen was born in Bergen, Norway, on 8 September 1953. He began playing the guitar at the age of 12 and soon joined a local band. In 1982, he co-founded the band A-ha with Morten Harket and Magne Furuholmen. The band achieved international success with their debut single, "Take On Me". Olsen has released several solo albums, including "Stein-Erik Olsen" (1985), "The Big Picture" (1989), and "The Best of Stein-Erik Olsen" (1995). He has also collaborated with other artists, including the Norwegian singer Sissel Kyrkjebø and the British singer-songwriter Paul McCartney. Olsen has won several awards, including the Norwegian Grammy for Best Pop Album in 1985 and the Norwegian Grammy for Best Producer in 1995. He was also awarded the Order of St. Olav in 2004.
