He was born on December 23, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan. Bray began his career as a session musician in the late 1970s, playing keyboards and bass guitar for various artists. He was a member of the Pointer Sisters from 1979 to 1983, and co-wrote and produced several of their hit singles, including "Jump (For My Love)", "Automatic", and "I'm So Excited". In the 1980s, Bray worked with Madonna, co-writing and producing several of her hit singles, including "Material Girl", "Crazy for You", and "Like a Virgin". He also worked with Whitney Houston, co-writing and producing her hit single "How Will I Know". Bray has also worked with other artists, including Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, and the Rolling Stones. He has won several awards, including a Grammy Award for Best R&B Song for "How Will I Know". As of 2021, Stephen Bray's net worth is estimated to be roughly $10 million.
