Stephen Woolman, Lord Woolman is a Scottish lawyer and judge who has served as a Senator of the College of Justice since 2005. He was born in Edinburgh on 16 May 1953 and was educated at the University of Edinburgh, where he graduated with an MA in Law in 1975. He was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates in 1977 and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1991. Lord Woolman was appointed a Senator of the College of Justice in 2005 and was appointed a Lord of Appeal in Ordinary in 2009. He was appointed a Knight of the Thistle in 2011. Lord Woolman is married to Lady Woolman, and they have two children. He is a keen golfer and enjoys playing the piano. He is also a member of the Royal Company of Archers, the Queen's Bodyguard for Scotland.

Woolman served as Standing Junior Counsel to the Office of Fair Trading from 1991 to 1995, to the Procurement Executive of the Ministry of Defence from 1991 to 1995, and to the Inland Revenue from 1996 to 1998. He was appointed a Queen's Counsel in 1998 and served as Advocate Depute from 1999 to 2002. He was keeper of the Advocates' Library and a trustee of the National Library of Scotland from 2004 to 2008, and chairman of the Scottish Council of Law Reporting from 2007 to 2008.

Woolman was educated at the independent George Heriot's School, Edinburgh and studied at the School of Law of the University of Aberdeen (LL.B. Hons.). He was a lecturer at the Faculty of Law of the University of Edinburgh from 1978 to 1987, serving as Associate Dean from 1981 to 1984, and published the first edition of his work on Contract in 1987, being admitted to the Faculty of Advocates the same year.
