Steven Tyler

He drives a black Venom GT Spyder sports car that he ordered customized in 2013 ($1.2 million). The car eventually became the fastest open-top sports car after it was officially clocked at a top speed of 265.6 mph in March 2016.

On July 12, 2012, Tyler announced he will not return as a judge on American Idol (2002).

His father was of Italian (from Cotronei, Catanzaro, Calabria) and German (from Berlin and Gerlachsheim) descent, and his maternal grandfather, born Feliks Karol Czarnyszewicz, was a Polish emigrant from Kliczew and Bobrujsk (now, respectively, Klichaw and Babruysk, each of which is in Mahilyow Voblast, Belarus). Steven's maternal grandmother had English and distant Welsh ancestry; also, on the show Who Do You Think You Are? (2010), Steven's daughter Liv Tyler discovered that Steven's great-great-great-grandfather, Robert J. Elliott, was of half or part African-American ancestry. He was married to Steven's ancestor, Elizabeth "Betsey"/"Betsy" Rollins, in New York.

Sang "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the opening game of the 2004 World Series and at a 2002 charity hockey game with Sean Penn and Denis Leary hosting it.

Received honorary degree from Berklee College Of Music, Boston, June 2003.

March 2001: Inducted with Aerosmith into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. (Inducted by Kid Rock).

Has two children with his second wife, Teresa Barrick: Chelsea Tallarico (b. March 6, 1989) and Taj Tallarico (b. January 31, 1991).

In 1984, Tyler heard one of Aerosmith's older songs on the radio and didn't recognize it due to a poor memory from years of drug use. He told fellow Aerosmith player Joe Perry that they should perform a cover version for that song, which Perry replied, "It's us, fuckhead.".

The title of Aerosmith's popular song "Walk This Way" was inspired by a line from the Mel Brooks comedy Young Frankenstein (1974).

Aerosmith were voted the 57th Greatest Rock 'n' Roll Artists of all time by Rolling Stone.
