Sudhindra Thirtha (Kashi Math) was born on 31 March, 1926 in Ernakulam, Kerala, India. He was the son of a priest and was initiated into the Kashi Math at the age of 12. He was given the title of ‘Sudhindra Thirtha’ by his guru, Sri Sri Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahaswamiji. Sudhindra Thirtha was a renowned scholar and teacher of Vedanta and was known for his discourses on the Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, and other Hindu scriptures. He was also a prolific writer and had authored several books on Vedanta and Hindu philosophy. Sudhindra Thirtha was a spiritual leader and was respected by many. He was a great devotee of Lord Shiva and was known for his devotion and dedication to the Kashi Math. Sudhindra Thirtha passed away on 28 April, 2016 at the age of 90. He was survived by his wife, two sons, and two daughters.
