Taisto Sinisalo was born on 29 June, 1926 in Finland. He was a politician and served as the Minister of Social Affairs and Health from 1975 to 1977. He was a member of the Social Democratic Party of Finland. Sinisalo was educated at the University of Helsinki, where he received a Master of Laws degree in 1952. He was a lawyer and a member of the Helsinki City Council from 1965 to 1975. Sinisalo was a member of the Finnish Parliament from 1966 to 1983. He was the Minister of Social Affairs and Health from 1975 to 1977. He was also the Minister of Labour from 1977 to 1979. Sinisalo was a member of the European Parliament from 1984 to 1989. He was also a member of the Council of Europe from 1989 to 1992. Sinisalo was awarded the Order of the White Rose of Finland in 1992. He died on 28 April, 2020 at the age of 93.
