Tay Wilson was born in New Zealand on 3 February 1925. He was a professional rugby union player who played for the All Blacks from 1949 to 1954. He was a member of the All Blacks team that won the 1950 Bledisloe Cup. Wilson was a powerful forward who was known for his strength and aggression. He was also a great line-out jumper and was known for his ability to win the ball in the air. Wilson was a member of the New Zealand Army during World War II and served in the Pacific. After the war, he returned to New Zealand and began playing rugby for the Ponsonby Rugby Club. Wilson was a member of the All Blacks team that toured South Africa in 1949. He played in all four tests and scored a try in the first test. He was also a member of the All Blacks team that won the 1950 Bledisloe Cup. Wilson retired from rugby in 1954 and went on to become a successful businessman. He was the owner of a number of businesses, including a transport company and a hotel. Wilson was married to his wife, Mary, for over 60 years. He had two children, a son and a daughter. At the age of 89, Wilson was still active in the business world and was a regular attendee at the Ponsonby Rugby Club. He passed away in 2014 at the age of 89.
