Tim Van Eyken is a British folk singer and musician. He is best known for his work with the English folk group Bellowhead, with whom he won the BBC Radio 2 Folk Award for Best Group in 2011. He is also a member of the English folk trio The Rheingans Sisters, and has released two solo albums. Van Eyken was born in Bristol, England, and grew up in the nearby village of Wickwar. He began playing music at an early age, learning the recorder and the violin. He went on to study music at the University of York, where he was a member of the university folk group, The York Waits. Van Eyken has been a member of Bellowhead since 2004, and has toured extensively with the band. He has also performed with the English folk trio The Rheingans Sisters, and released two solo albums, The Van Eyken Project (2008) and The Van Eyken Project 2 (2010). Van Eyken is married to fellow folk musician Rachel Newton, and the couple have two children. He currently lives in Edinburgh, Scotland.
