Richard Propes of The Independent Critic states, ''If you know indie actor Timothy J. Cox, then you already know he's a serious actor. Cox has always had a bit of an "ordinary joe" aura going on about him. He's comfortable playing a wide range of characters and he's not beyond going way out of his comfort zone when the script calls for it''. In a career that began when he won the lead role in his eighth grade school musical, something that he auditioned for just to get out of Math class, critically acclaimed indie character actor Timothy J. Cox has shown no signs of slowing down. Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Cox began studying acting in high school, performing in numerous plays and musicals. During this time the actor saw two performances on film that inspired him to make acting his life's work, Jack Lemmon in Days of Wine and Roses (1962) and Donald Sutherland in Ordinary People (1980). Both performances, especially Lemmon's (one of the actor's many idols) had a profound effect on the young actor. Mr. Cox continued his acting studies at Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio and appeared in numerous plays, many of them classical works by the likes of Shakespeare, Moliere, Feydeau and Sophocles.
