Vadim Vasiliev is a Soviet and Russian actor who has appeared in over 100 films and television series. He is best known for his roles in the films The Irony of Fate (1975), The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed (1979), and The Diamond Arm (1969). Vasiliev was born in Krasnograd, Kharkovskaya oblast, Ukranian SSR, Soviet Union. He studied at the Moscow Art Theatre School and graduated in 1956. He then joined the Moscow Art Theatre, where he worked until 1965. Vasiliev has appeared in numerous films and television series, including The Irony of Fate (1975), The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed (1979), and The Diamond Arm (1969). He has also appeared in the television series The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson (1979-1986), The Adventures of Petrov and Vasechkin (1981-1982), and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson: The Hound of the Baskervilles (1983). Vasiliev has won numerous awards for his work, including the State Prize of the Russian Federation (1996), the Order of Friendship (1998), and the Order of Honour (2006). Vasiliev is married to actress Natalya Fateyeva, with whom he has two children.
