Vassiliki Anastasiadou is a Cypriot politician who has served as the Minister of Education and Culture since 2018. She was born in Nicosia, Cyprus, on 3 May 1958. She studied at the University of Athens, where she obtained a degree in Political Science and Public Administration. Anastasiadou began her political career in the late 1980s, when she was elected to the Nicosia Municipal Council. She was later elected to the House of Representatives in 1991, and served as a Member of Parliament until 2001. In 2001, she was appointed as the Minister of Education and Culture, a position she held until 2003. In 2018, Anastasiadou was appointed as the Minister of Education and Culture once again. She has been credited with introducing a number of reforms to the education system, including the introduction of a new curriculum and the introduction of a new system of school inspections.
