He has also worked on films such as The Spy Who Loved Me, The Living Daylights, The Last Crusade, The Mask of Zorro, and War of the Worlds. Armstrong was born in Farnham Common, Buckinghamshire, England. He began his career as a stuntman in the late 1960s, working on films such as The Italian Job and Diamonds Are Forever. He went on to become a stunt coordinator and second unit director, working on films such as Superman, The Spy Who Loved Me, and The Living Daylights. In addition to his work in film, Armstrong has also worked on television shows such as The A-Team, MacGyver, and The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. He has also worked as a stunt coordinator on the video game series Tomb Raider. Armstrong has been nominated for two Academy Awards for Best Achievement in Film Editing for his work on War of the Worlds and The Mask of Zorro.
