Vicente Mijares is a Mexican professional boxer who has held multiple world titles in the light flyweight and flyweight divisions. He was born on June 14, 1954 in Gomez Palacio, Mexico. Mijares began his professional boxing career in 1975 and won his first world title in 1980 when he defeated Rafael Orono to become the WBC light flyweight champion. He successfully defended his title four times before losing it to Hilario Zapata in 1982. In 1984, Mijares won the WBC flyweight title by defeating Miguel Canto. He successfully defended his title four times before losing it to Sung-Kil Moon in 1986. Mijares retired from boxing in 1989 with a record of 48 wins (25 by knockout), 8 losses and 2 draws.
