He then attended the University of Detroit Mercy, where he was a four-year starter and was named the Horizon League Player of the Year in 2003. Green was selected by the Seattle SuperSonics in the second round of the 2003 NBA draft. He has since played for the Philadelphia 76ers, New Orleans Hornets, Atlanta Hawks, and Los Angeles Lakers. On August 9, 2016, Green was hired by Warriors coaching staff as an assistant coach. Green won his first championship when the Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in five games of the 2017 NBA Finals.
