Yuan Chengye was a Chinese politician and diplomat who served as the Vice Premier of the People's Republic of China from 1983 to 1988. He was born in Shangyu, Zhejiang, China on 10 October 1924. Yuan Chengye was a member of the Communist Party of China and served in various positions in the Chinese government. He was the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1973 to 1983, and the Vice Premier of the State Council from 1983 to 1988. He was also a member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress from 1988 to 1993. Yuan Chengye was a highly respected diplomat and politician in China. He was known for his diplomatic skills and his ability to negotiate with foreign countries. He was also known for his commitment to the Chinese people and his dedication to the cause of socialism. Yuan Chengye passed away on 28 April 2018 at the age of 94. He was survived by his wife, two sons, and two daughters.
